Is your product environmentally certified?
Yes! Our manufacturer is GRS Certified. The GRS is "an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. Clothing is made from either natural fibres (cotton, silk, wool) or synthetic fibres (polyester, nylon, spandex). Natural fibres come from plants or animals while synthetic fibres usually come from petroleum. These fibres are spun into yarn which is used to make clothing. Our petroleum is simply sourced from used materials.
1. Plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and sorted.
2. The plastic is shredded into small flakes.
3. The flakes are melted then extruded (spun and pulled) into yarn.
4. The yarn is then spun into thread which is then woven into fabric. This fabric is used to make clothes!
